Parachute cord (also paracord or 550 cord) is a lightweight nylon kernmantle rope consisting of a 32 strand woven nylon outer sheath with an inner core of seven, 2 ply nylon yarns originally used in the suspension lines of US parachutes and widely used by our Military today.
